Lavender Essential Oil
 
Calming and relaxation

  •  This is the quality of Lavender oil that is the most popular. 
  • Put a five or six drops onto the pillow before going to bed. 
  • Add 10 drops to a tub full of warm water for adults and children to induce relaxation at bedtime (or anytime). 
  • Use with an epsom salt bath for relaxation and healing of tension and sore muscles from a stressful day or workout. 
  • Add 10 drops to a wool dryer ball before drying bed linens for a welcome scent at bedtime for you and your guests.
  • Add 10 drops to 2T of massage oil such as grapeseed, coconut, or jojoba oil and massage into sore muscles for an anti-inflammatory as well as relaxant.
  • Rub into the soles of adults and children's feet for relaxation at bedtime.
  • Place a 10 drops onto a child's favorite stuffed animal to induce calmness.
  • Place 10 drops onto a bandana and tie around a dog's neck for calmness in stressful times like car trips or thunderstorms. Or rub 5 drops between your palms and rub onto the dogs head and ears. 
  • Add 10 drops to a cotton ball and place into a zip top bag. Place the bag into a student's book bag for inhaling before exams to induce clarity and calm. 
  • Use the cotton ball method for adults as well. Perfect for purses, travel bags, brief cases to use in times where calm is needed. 
  • Reduce agitation in children and adults by diffusing in the home, classroom or office. 


Skin conditioning

  • Sunburn-rub onto irritated skin or use in a warm bath to soothe sunburn. Add to aloe vera gel to decrease inflammation, soothe the pain, and increase healing. May also be added to face and body lotion. 
  • Psoriasis-the anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties of Lavender oil assist in the healing of psoriasis flare ups. Massage into the effected areas alone or with a soothing carrier like grapeseed oil or aloe. 
  • Rash-rub onto effected area for relief of swelling, itching and pain.
  • Bug bites-may be used as a repellent or first aid for a bite. Use in a spray bottle with vodka ( 1 part) and water (4 parts). May be used undiluted on the effected area for immediate relief from the pain and itch of the bite. 
  • Acne-acts as an anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial to heal and reduce the swelling and redness from acne. Use undiluted on pimples or added to face lotion for preventative or treatment.  
  • Dry skin-helps soften and condition dry skin. Add to face and body lotion or directly onto skin. 
  • Add to Jason's Basic face and body lotion for an excellent skin softener, healer.


Reducing inflammation

  • Sore joints-rub directly onto the joint for relief from swelling. Repeat 4-6 times a day as needed.
  • For inflamed gums after dental procedures rub directly onto the gums around the effected area. 
  • Add 10-20 drops to a warm epsom salts bath for relief for inflamed muscles and joints. 


Aiding Digestion

  • Can be rubbed on the abdomen over the stomach or colon for relief from digestive upsets. 
  • Especially good for relief from nervous stomach or motion sickness. Rub onto temples, inhale, or diffuse. 


Killing Bacteria

  • Use to kill bacteria, viruses, or parasites. 
  • Add to a spray bottle with vodka (1part) and water (4parts) to use on household, classroom or any surfaces for prevention of diseases caused by bacteria and viruses. 
  • Can be used directly onto the scalp for lice or scabie treatment or prevention in humans and animals. The oil will kill the parasite and soothe irritation. 
  • Rub directly onto a ring worm on humans or animal.
